LOrelLa VErrilLO

Lorella Verrillo lives in Rome, where she was born. It was her passion for jewels that made her start her own artistic jewellery production. Later she attended the “Arti Preziose di Roma” school (Precious Arts of Rome School), where she learnt the secrets of metal processing using the lost-wax technique.

Her works comes into being under the sign of a great creative freedom.

Each work of art is an expression of a soul, of the time…..the perfect balance of shapes, the use of colour through unique stones.

Lost-wax process

This method dates from ancient Greeks and Etruscans, who used it to make jewels in gold, silver, bronze and other metals.

The process consists of creating a wax shell, which is  covered in layers of plaster. Molten metal is  poured into the mold and  then the wax model is melted and drained away (lost), letting the molten metal fill the space left by the wax. When cool, the outer plaster is removed, the unrefined jewel can receive finishing touches, and precious stones can be worn on it, making it become a little sculpture to wear
